Now we protest in peace, we use civil disobedience, 9 students arrested, activists support RIFA and CIR ASAP

Peaceful protests.  How do we civilly disobey?

How to bring attention to immigration reform?

Civil Disobedience is the act of refusing orders by a governing authority for the purposes of social change.  It is always done peacefully.

There is an art to civil disobedience.  Do it right and you can make a statement.  Do it wrong and you can spend time in the pokey for little benefit and harm the movement you want to help!  Here are some ideas for those who decide to take the drastic step of civilly disobeying the “lawful” command of authority:

1.  It is usually best to civilly disobey in numbers.  It gives each of you a witness to the events that transpired.  It is good for moral support.  It says more than one person is willing to sacrifice.

2.  Civil disobedience is always done in peace.  If you chain yourself to the capitol doors, do it passively.  Don’t "resist".  If you refuse to obey commands of law enforcement then there are consequences to you.  If you go yelling and kicking and screaming or use threats of any kind, there may be consequences to the movement.

3.  Call the press before you act.  That gives you more witnesses.  That also is the whole point of civil disobedience.  This is free speech, not a pain in the ass to law enforcement.  Getting even gets us nothing.  Your speech is best heard through the voice of the press.

4.  Call your attorney before you go to the event.  It is always better each person has his own attorney as each person may have diverse levels of culpability.

5.  Have bond money ready.

6.  Be sure you have emptied your pockets of all sharp objects, pepper spray and anything else that could be considered to be a weapon.  Be sure you don’t have any substances out of favor with the authorities in your possession.  Fortunately, today’s protest movement has been without popular support of mind altering substances, unlike the war protests of the 1960’s.  Don't expect medical care in the cross bar motel.  If you require frequent medication this may not be the step for you.

7.  Have your plan well laid out.  Perhaps there will be a few to be arrested and others to cheer them on.  Maybe you all go.  It is best to know where you are going and how you will do it.

8.  Explore alternatives before you civilly disobey.  Phone calls to the governor’s office might be one alternative.  How about a work stoppage?  If you have not tried the tactic yet you are probably early in your civil disobedience.

9.  If you decide to take this step then do it in your own name.  It is unfair to hold the movement accountable for your actions.  Be aware a criminal record may affect you in the future.  It never goes away.  It is hard to explain on job applications.  Take the decision with care and well considered thought.  But if you are dedicated and ready, do as your heart tells you!

10.  Call your secretary, your college professors, your hair dresser and clear your schedule.  You may be on vacation for awhile.  Then call your mom!

From my point of view, the purpose of civil disobedience is to get a law passed or an unjust law repealed.  It is not to be a martyr.  If you sacrifice yourself, do it for the benefit of the movement.  Reform Immigration For America is not acting.  You are.

That means we must perform these kinds of things peacefully and keeping our objectives well in mind.  While you may not be acting for RIFA, your actions could be attributed to it.  Conduct yourself like a ladies and gentlemen while you are being hand cuffed and arrested!

If you are demonstrating against the travesty of justice in Arizona, which occurred with the mere passage of H.B. 1070, let alone signature of the bill if Governor Jan Brewer signs it, try contacting the Governor’s Office:

We are fighting an uneducated public.  Comprehensive Immigration reform (CIR) (CIR ASAP) is a cause most Americans will support if they are armed with the facts.  Some have already taken this step of protest.

We are asking for students to be allowed to go to college through the dream act and break the chain of poverty;

we are asking for the ICE raids to stop;

we are asking for a path to citizenship for 14,000,000 people using a background check and the payment of a fine which could equal as much as $2,800,000,000.  That is two billion eight hundred million and no/100’s dollars;

we are asking for a way for all drivers on the road to be licensed, and therefore insured;

we are asking for help to keep families together because we believe in family values;

we are willing to protect our borders as part of comprehensive immigration reform as a complete package;

we are working for a law that will provide labor to businesses as the baby boomers retire.

We are asking for basic civil rights and justice in a country that prides itself on both.

If you have not signed up for RIFA yet, be sure to sign up!

Nothing I have said here should be taken as speaking on behalf of Reform Immigration For America (RIFA) or any other organization.  I don’t speak for the civil rights and immigration movement.  These are my personal thoughts.  I don't advocate breaking laws.  I do advocate free speech.

If you are already in legal trouble or on probation, getting arrested is probably not a sacrifice you should make.  This is general advice, not legal advice.  Consult your attorney before taking this step.

God bless you.  The civil rights movement of this generation is in full swing.  The English speaking community has mostly ignored us.  It is time to wake them up!

D-day for Governor Jan Brewer, toughest law on illegal immigrants up for signature – will she sign?

Today is D-Day for Arizona Governor Jan Brewer.  She is expected to sign or veto House Bill 1070 which makes being an illegal immigrant illegal.  This is the legislation that makes law enforcement responsible for enforcing immigration laws state-wide.

Under the law, members of law enforcement are required to ascertain the status of alien workers whenever their legal status comes into suspicion.  Those who are discovered to be out of status, or who came into the U.S. illegally, must be detained for immigration pick-up.  There are various other nefarious provisions of the law, including penalties for citizens who transport undocumented workers, and of course, employers who hire undocumented workers.

Civil rights groups and others have voiced concerns about racial profiling.  We have asked the question about what happens to citizens who are mistakenly detained.  We also want to know where the refugees are going to go as they flee Sheriff “Little Joe” Arpaio, the bully with the badge in Maricopa county.  We also are interested in learning how an undocumented worker can report a crime, since to do so may subject them to deportation.

It will be interesting to see how Governor Brewer reacts to the proposed legislation.  It was passed strictly along party lines, Republicans voting for the law and Democrats voting against the law.  The Republicans put Governor Brewer in a tight spot.  If she signs the law she risks alienating the Latino vote.  If she vetoes the law she will alienate the conservative Republican vote.  Neither scenario bodes well for her in a tight re-election campaign.

African American attacked for using public toilet, racist burn his car, terrorize witnesses!

Dahndra A. Moore, a 23 year old African American, was darned proud of his new car, a 1989 Crown Victoria.  He had driven it to his mother’s house in Bennettsville, located in Marlboro County, South Carolina so she could see it.

Nature was calling as Dahndra was driving home so he pulled up to a Stop ‘n Shop gas station on Salem Road around 11:30 p.m.  He did not know it at the time, but when he asked to use the bathroom he had stepped into a bee hive of white supremacy hatred.

A moment later, racist thug, Thomas Howard Blue Sr., banged on the restroom door.  Dahndra heard someone on the other side of the door calling him by a vile name.  The “N” word is so ugly it is rarely printed anymore.

I wonder how Dahndra felt as he came out of the bathroom.  He was immediately confronted by 49 year Thomas Howard “Big Bad” Blue who was the owner of the Stop ‘n Shop.

“We’re not selling you anything out of this store, ‘N’” “Big Bad” Blue stated.

Then the racist brute grabbed Dahndra and forcibly removed him from the store.  The two struggled and Blue pushed Dahndra Moore to the ground.  Dahndra was terrified by the unexpected assault and tried to get out of “Big Bad” Blue’s grip.

That is when “Baby Blue”, whose name is Howard Blue Jr., came to his father’s rescue.  Rescue, in this case, was with chain saw in hand.

“All you could see was hatred” Dahndra said.  “They looked really serious about what they were doing!”

Moore said he was scared to death as “Baby Blue” came at him with the chain saw buzzing.

“I was scared. I was trying to get (away) from him,” Moore said.

Meanwhile, with Thomas Howard Blue Sr. and Thomas Howard Blue Jr. struggling with Dahndra, a friend of the Blues, Judson Hartley Talbert, jumped into Dahndra’s car and took off.  He drove it to “Blue’s Landing” on the Great Pee Dee River.

After realizing that Moore was trying to call police, Blue chased Moore from the Stop and Shop parking lot to a nearby road.  Dahndra frantically knocked on the door of a stranger, Jamie Gray.

“I said to (Gray), they took my car, you know.”

You can imagine how Dahndra felt when the confused Gray offered to take him back to the Stop ‘n Shop.  Things were finally made clear and Gray drove Dahndra to his parent’s house.  Gray told Dahndra he would go down to the Stop ‘n Shop to take a look.

Don’t stop for strangers who are in a rage in the middle of the night is the message here. “Big Bad” Blue put a pistol to Hayes's head and cocked it.  Blue Sr. was convinced Hayes knew where Dahndra was.

“Where’s the “N”?  Where are you hiding the ‘N’?” he demanded to know.

When Hayes could not give an answer the panicked Blue pistol whipped him, causing him to bleed profusely.

By now, Gray arrived after dropping Dahndra at his parent’s house.  “Big Bad” Blue turned the pistol on Gray.  Both Gray and Hayes fled from the racist man's attack.  The police finally arrived and they arrested the two Blues plus a third person.  The third person was eventually exonerated.

When Howard Blue Sr. got out of jail he and the man who stole Dahndra’s car, Judson Talbert, met.  They went to “Blue’s Landing” on the Pee Dee and burned Dahndra’s Crown Victoria in an attempt to destroy the evidence.

When one is denied use of a bathroom located in a private business solely based upon race, they are depriving that person of their civil rights.  That is because the business held it’s bathroom open to the public.  It cannot discriminate based upon race.

The three bullies were indicted on a slew of charges including violating civil rights, car jacking, use of a fire to commit a felony, use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, evidence tampering and grand jury perjury.

Today, the Department of Justice announced sentencing on guilty pleas as a result of a plea bargain.  U.S. District Court Judge R. Bryan Harwell sentenced the three brutes in a Florence, S.C. courtroom.  Judge Harwell sentenced Thomas Howard “Big Bad” Blue, Sr., to 156 months in prison, Thomas Howard “Baby” Blue, Jr. to 36 months in prison  car thief and pyrotechincal expert Judson Hartley Talbert 108 months in prison.

The three remained arrogant and rebellious to the last, telling the Judge they committed their reign of terror because Dahndra was black.

“Just looking at them makes me feel like I’m living that night again,” he said.

Moore said he is confident the Blues have done this to other blacks.

“It’s surprising. Growing up, I only saw it on TV,” he said. “Mama would let you see the movie ‘The Color Purple’.  Stopping at that store was like something you see on TV. It was like a nightmare, really.”

“Our nation has come a long way in our battle against bigotry, but this case is a reminder that there are still those individuals who wish to divide our communities by hate,” said Thomas E. Perez, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

“The barbaric conduct of these three defendants against a man solely because of his skin color is shocking,” said W. Walter Wilkins, United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina.

Substantial information for this article regarding Thomas Howard Blue Sr., Thomas Howard Blue, Jr. and Justin Talbert and their denying the civil rights of Dahndra Moore was obtained from SC News.

1930’s Nazi-like witch hunt to begin after Arizona passes tough illegal immigrant law

Arizona HB 1070 lets loose the dogs

Governor Jan Brewer voiced concerns over certain provisions of the Arizona law that require law enforcement to hunt down illegal immigrants and all of those who look like illegal immigrants.

The round up could mirror that of Nazi Germany when the rouge country went after the Jewish community.  At least the French deported them.  Refugee immigrants are likely to flee Arizona in a desperate attempt to stay out of trouble with the law.

jews_france_0217 Hate based legislation spreads, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and California likely will absorb a fair number of fleeing immigrants.  Legislation to combat the terror stricken and fleeing community of undocumented workers may follow.

Of the states mentioned, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and California, the state of Colorado is most likely to follow suit with anti-immigrant legislation.  Currently, it competes with Arizona as one of the most unfriendly states in the U.S. when it comes to those who seek a way to put food on the table for their little ones.  For example, Colorado won’t provide treatment to a breast cancer victim until she is on her death bed.  However, if Governor Brewer signs the anti-illegal immigrant law into effect, Arizona will take the gold medal hands down for “No immigrants in my restaurant!”

The law requires law enforcement to identify undocumented workers and arrest them for deportation.  Anyone who looks like an undocumented worker is subject to stop under the theory of “reasonable suspicion”.  The trick is how to be Latino but not appear to be “illegal”.

Sheriff “Little Joe” Arpaio admits he made 200 mistakes when he rounded up about 700 people recently.
About 30% of the people he arrested or detained were here legally.  What do you want to bet they were mostly Hispanic?  I call him “Little Joe”, by the way, because a bully with a badge is small and little in my book.  Little Joe is ready with 900 troops all specially trained in immigration enforcement tactics.  No one alleges now criminal “illegals” will suffer death camps.

Deportation, breaking up of families, employers who lose their shirts when employees disappear, raped women and sexually molested children who don’t want the entire family deported if they report the crime, all of these are likely results of hate based legislation.

Let’s hope sanity prevails upon Republican Governor Brewer who is facing a tough re-election campaign.  Considering the vote was straight down party lines, Republicans in favor, Democrats against, hope is waning.

faces of freedom A contingent of protesters met on a Denver, Colorado street corner today to protest the unjust law that has been passed in Arizona.

Faces of justice

The law makes being an “illegal immigrant” illegal.

Unlike past immigration reform movements, this one is multi-cultural, include persons of faith, diversity in sexual orientation, women who have suffered oppression and others who know the how the ugly thumb of oppression feels.

a strong message

Stop the raids!

The protest was called at the last minute and held at El Centro Humanitario in the urban renewal district at 23rd and Champa streets.  Present were a host of people who speak Spanish and English as their first language.  The strongest showing was from faith based groups who say we must accept the stranger amongst us!

The law in Arizona is unjust

people are suffering

If you are a person who believes in standing up for justice then please join in protesting this ugly law.  It prevents an immigrant from approaching the police after being victim of a crime, it promotes the knock on the door in the middle of the night same as the fatherland, and it promotes breaking up of families, no family values here!

May 1st is going to be a very big day in the fight for immigration rights.  Be sure to watch for the hundreds of parades and events passing, and come join us in a patriotic show, oppressive tactics won’t fly in the USA!
